Iron Man: Mark V from Hot Toys!

Iron Man Mark V (Hot Toys)

Well, first of all pardon me for sharing such a 'back-dated' figure so late towards the end of the year (when I say late I mean most of you collectors have probably read reviews on this Hot Toys figure from other toy websites before!). But as they all say, there ain't any hard-and-fast rules about toy blogging nowadays. Heck, you can even blog about a toy that has been released a decade before and still you'd draw readers to your humble blog. You get the drift  =p......anyway this excellent Hot Toys Iron Man Mark V figure belongs to The Rebel Page's own (sometime reviewer) the_ridz, and I can only thank him for allowing me to snap some pictures of his latest haul (and I've snapped pictures of his ROTLA Indiana Jones too, but let's get into this Mark IV figure first shall we!)

The packaging is the same-old design we've seen in so many of HT's releases before. It does the job well....shows the Mark V in action (most probably during his encounter with Whiplash in that Monaco racing track scene!).

The back of the packaging.....

The inner sleeve shows the HT team aka the ones responsible for bringing this 1/6th figure to life.

This is how the figure layout looks like when you slide the inner sleeve out.

When you pop the figure tray out of the box, you'd get to see the figure like so....with its accessories neatly tucked beside it (we'll get into that later).

Beneath the first tray is a second one, used to store the standard HT figure stand, a flight stand and a briefcase.

Fresh out of the tray! Enjoy the pics will ya! Some were saying that this Mark V figure looks a tad bit like Ultraman....colour scheme and all.....lol. For the record, his colour scheme is supposed to be a homage to the 'silver-centurion' Iron Man design.

Real great detailing from Hot Toys!

The view from the back is equally mesmerising!

Ok, here's the figure with the stuffs he came with.

Interesting enough, this Mark V figure also comes with a pair of handcuffs used in the movie by Tony Stark's bodyguard (I think his name was Hogan or somethin') to cuff his hands to the briefcase as a security measure. Other notable accessories include the battle-damaged chest armour piece and an interchangeable battle-damaged left arm.

The battle damaged arm is an interesting piece. We can clearly see the blue coloured racing suit that Stark wore prior into his 'transformation' process.

Here's how it looks snapped onto the Mark V.

The briefcase does nothing but adds to the overall  look of the figure display. (No, it doesn't really 'morph' into the Mark V suit...lol!). Nice addition from HT though....

Next, comes a series of photos depicting the 'lighting' features of the Mark V

As usual, HT utilises a pretty strong LED light for the 'arc reactor'. It's really bright!

Iron Man Mark V (Hot Toys)

The repulsor blast/lights are nice and bright....the same that we've seen from the previous Iron Man releases from HT before.

Here's how the arc reactor light looks like in the dark. Blinding ain't it?!

Iron Man Mark V (Hot Toys)

Oh yeah, there's also an instruction manual. I suggest those who are new to HT figures to read through the instructions carefully so as to minimize any untoward mishaps onto the action figure itself. May sound trivial, but I've heard of some cases where 'newbie' HT collectors accidently damaged their action figure...*horror*.

Iron Man Mark V (Hot Toys)

Last but not least, HT has provided a light-up stand (in addition to the standard stand)...and guess what? It lights up as brightly as the figure itself! Talk about a light show!
