Former Real Madrid player Michel Salgado for Blackburn Rovers!

According to many sources, former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado has expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing in England as he nears a move to Blackburn. This news may not come as exciting as Man City's ridiculous buying frenzy or some other big name signings, but for a small town EPL club such as Blackburn, that IS big news. Heheh...

The experienced right-back was released by Madrid earlier this month after spending ten years at the Bernabeu. Salgado has been considering over a number of options since Sam Allardyce confirmed his interest last week. But reports and rumours have been flying in Spain that Salgado has accepted an offer from Blackburn and the 33-year-old says he is happy to be on his way to the Premier League.

"This was the most interesting proposition in terms of sport, I have always wanted to play in England," Salgado is quoted as saying in the Spanish press.
The funny thing is, Blackburn already has TWO capable rightbacks in the likes of Brett Emerton and Lars Jacobsen, both current internationals for Australia and Denmark respectively. So why the need for yet another right-back when it's midfield players that the club currently lacks?
'Nuff said.
