HBO's Watchmen Episode 3 afterthoughts

Laurie's finally appeared in the new Watchmen TV series. I knew it. For the uninitiated, Laurie Blake is Silk Spectre II from the original Watchmen graphic novel/Zack Snyder's film (the first one was her mother in the 40s). I just knew it that she's probably gonna be one of the first original member to make an appearance. Well, actually Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias has that honor but he's trapped somewhere in a faraway land so that doesn't really count now, does it? Besides, the hulaballoo's all taking place in Tulsa and not Mars. The real shocker here is that Laurie Blake now works for the government to repel vigilantism when she herself was one many years ago.

Which brings us to know how Laurie still has feelings for old blue even after 30 years.

Laurie still tries to contact Dr Manhattan i.e. her first lover via a long-distance phone booth which apparently takes only 40 seconds to deliver your recorded message to your intended recipient over on Mars. Is Doc Manhattan the only being on Mars? Laurie joked about every each of the Watchmen's members but was she really trying to say that she was the only one who cheated the bad fate that befallen each of them except herself?

Not much on Sister Night this week but Laurie did have an encounter with her and I was a bit disappointed that they didn't show much about old man Reeves in this episode.

Like so many others, I suspect that Adrian Veidt's probably somewhere on Mars. The presence of a 'Game Warden' is suspiciously pointing to the fact that Veidt's is some sort of a prisoner somewhere, most likely a captive of Dr Manhattan after the events that had happened 30 years ago. And yeah, for those who still doubt who Jeremy Irons is playing (even after 2 episodes) make no mistake this time as he puts on his suit this week. Irons IS Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias.

Honestly, I was expecting to see Dan Dreiberg/Nite Owl to make an appearance at the end of the episode but we got a signal from Dr Manhattan instead. The Nite Owl's probably out there somewhere after he literally lifted old man Reeves up into the sky back at the ending of Episode 2. I'm just guessing that it's him because I really do want to see the Nite Owl back in the series. The truth is I don't even know if he is truly still alive at this point.
