The Offer

Seems that we're gonna get a mini-series on Paramount+ about Al Ruddy, the film producer who worked on the 1972 The Godfather movie. The mini-series is due out in April but I'm gonna look for other means of watching it because as usual, Paramount+ does not exist in my country, just like Hulu and other cool streaming channels.

The Godfather is not only one of the coolest ever movie that had ever graced cinema history but Mr. Epitome-of-Cool himself i.e. Marlon Brando was in it. His good acting skills plus Francis Ford Coppola's sublime directing style made sure Mario Puzo's book deserved its equally stunning on-screen iteration.

For the uninitiated, The Godfather is worth that 3 hours of your lives. Do catch it whenever you can, at least once in your lives. You don't necessarily need to be a Mafia enthusiast to enjoy the film. I have my preferences so I'm going out on a limb and say that Goodfellas is my absolute favorite Mafia movie but The Godfather comes at a close second. Having said that, they're both great in their own rights.

So coming back to the mini-series, Miles Teller will star as the protagonist, Ruddy himself. Teller is such an under-rated actor. Loved the guy in Whiplash but he had such torrid reviews for his part in that abysmal/unnecessary Fantastic Four movie, although it wasn't really his fault. One interesting fact to note is that we're gonna see the role of the purportedly invisible Mafia hands that controlled the production of the 1972 movie. It's also worth to note that an actual member of the Mafia also acted in that movie, so let's see if that's going to be mentioned in the mini-series as well.
