Holy acrophobia! A (downward) view from 103 floors up....if you dare!!!

"Sears Tower visitors can step out 103 floors up!" That was the headline in one of today's net news. Just take a look-see in the picture above. May not mean that much to some, but shove me a thousand bucks (USD) and you won't even see me getting near the elevator. For ten thousand, I might think twice but not persuasive enough. For a hundred thousand, you'd get one of my feet inside. For a million, I'd be happily inside while blindfolded all the way to the top! Heheh.....
This is a picture of the actual elevator (more like a 'balcony' if you ask me), hanging aka suspended only one one side to the Sears building. These balconies (means that there're more than ONE of such elevators) are suspended 1,353 feet (412 meters) in the air and "jut out" 4 feet (1.22 meters) from the building's 103rd floor Skydeck. They're actually more like boxes than balconies, with transparent walls, floor and ceiling. Visitors are treated to unobstructed views of Chicago from the building's west side and a heart-stopping vista of the street and Chicago River below – for those brave enough to look straight down.

Those who plan to go to Chicago might not want to miss this unique elevator ride. Hmmm, you'd get an adrenaline rush while riding the elevator to your office floor and vice-versa. Sounds good! Promises to be a 'heart-stopper'.....metaphorically or 'literally'. Ah, wonders of the modern architectural technology.
