The sale of Newcastle Utd to a group of Asian businessmen...

Whoaa!!! This is some big news we got here this morning. An Asian consortium is said to be interested in purchasing Newcastle United from the current owner Mike Ashley and these Asian businessmen have even taken a tour of the club's facilities and inspected the St James' Park ground condition. The best news of it all was.....the consortium is strongly rumoured to be from Malaysia! How cool is that?
Honestly I would've been proud if any South East Asian consortiums take over any of the EPl clubs, but the prospect of having a Malaysian board controlling an EPL club (well, now FORMER EPL club.......) is very exciting indeed!!!
The current owner had put Newcastle up for sale again for the second time i.e. the moment they got relegated to the Championship league. His feeble attempt to sell the club thru internet bidding 'via' an eBay-styled auction was ridiculed by most. Some bloke even offered him a couple of concert tickets in exchange for the club! How joke of a chairman could he get?? A very big one apparently.....
Anyway, let's all wait for the results of this proposed takeover. I read that the group of businessmen have since returned to London to resume negotiations. It's gonna be pretty interesting if they do succeed in getting the club. Mike Ashley has publicly mentioned that he'd sell NUFC to the first person(s) who offers him GBP100 million....so let's see if RM550 million would be exchanged for a 'crest-fallen-club' over the next couple of weeks!
'Nuff said......
