Geek Heaven! Mega Plaza @ Bangkok, Thailand

I spent almost half of September '19 in a foreign land for some work matter. Evidently there were also zero postings on the blog for the first half of the month due to demanding work schedules. My Retro Nostalgia: Early 90s Marvel Trading Cards....

I was gonna write about comic books and how they were part of my adolescent years but I decided to talk about something else first which is very related to comic books itself. I'm talking about collectible trading cards. Nope, not the ones with the 'battle attributes' or 'ready to fight' trading cards (re: Magic The Gathering, Pokemon cards and the sorts) but I'm talking specifically about the plain ol' trading cards which show comic book characters or even sports personalities (I'll get into these later) which you can collect randomly through the purchase of blind bags from your comic book stores. Let me bring you audience back to the early 90s, where comic book character trading cards first exploded into the pop culture scene. First look at MCU's The Leader

Marvel Studio's finally given us a first look at the character so familiar to youse comic Incredible Hulk readers. Not gonna lie, but I was one of those really looking forward to the evolution of Samuel Sterns' character since that Ed Norton 2008 movie. Was a bit shocked to see Marvel Studios giving him the Mr Blue/scientist identity over the janitor persona in the comics but all that matters is he'll eventually turn into the elongated-head we all remember from the comic pages, right? The promo art from the upcoming Capt America: Brave New World shows an image of Samuel Sterns (still played by actor Tim Blake Nelson) side by side with a stylized image of how the MCU is going to portray him. Yup, they went for the elongated head look instead of the testicular-like variant head we've seen in some comic iterations.
