Medicom's 1/6 scale C-3PO & R2-D2 ready to be pre-ordered!

Yup, they're finally up for pre-ordering through Sideshow Collectible's website (the official distribution partner for the Medicom RAH line). I've first mentioned about these two cool-looking Star Wars characters way back in July '09, where even back then, my immediate concern was whether they would look in scale with the rest of the other 1/6 figures, namely Sideshow's Star Wars line. Medicom RAH figures are widely known and accepted as being a wee bit smaller than its peers in the 1/6 scale industry. So how would these two droids stand in comparison with the rest of Sideshow's figures? Would the size/scale anomalies affect collectors' decision to purchase them? We'd see soon enough I reckon.

One who plans to buy either one, must surely be tempted to get the other! They have to go together...no two ways about it! 3PO is priced at USD199 while R2 is priced at USD189. That's another differentiating factor between Medicom and the rest of the 1/6 action-figure producers. They're a bit on the high side, but if you can look beyond that, I think these figures are worth it every step of the way.....because I seriously think that it'd be a long wait till Sideshow eventually decides to do their version of these two droids. If ever, that is.

Whatever it is, on their own, these two look mighty impressive! A must-have for any serious 1/6 Star Wars collector. Take a look at C-3PO......

...and R2-D2

Both comes with full articulation points (as per their limited movements evident throughout the whole Star Wars movies!) and LED light-up functions. Only R2 is shown with its lights on but I'm guessing C3-PO's eyes would light up too (what else is there to light up anyway on the golden droid? LOL!).

Now, after seeing these preview pictures (and try to forget about the price for a while)....tell me you're not interested?

Those are pretty cool, but the problem with Medicom is they're never quite in scale.
tu ar, kalau PO satu memang x sah, tapi dua2 lak mahal tahap gaban.
love c3po tho.

So far I haven't heard of any stores opening up preorders here in Malaysia. A bit too expensive for my wallet too...I've always steered away frm buying Medicoms because they're pricier and a little out of scale frm the rest.
