Went ape-s*** the other day (nope, unfortunately it WASN'T on Thursday.....now that would be very ironic ain't it?!) and got me'self a whole bunch of Thor figures, both 3.75" and 6" incarnations as well as NECA's Robocop.
Thor 3.75" movie figures
Initially, I steered clear of those 3.75" movie Thor figures because I felt that they were overpriced (same case as every other 3.75" figures on retail shelves here in Malaysia) but I said to myself that I'd only get 'em if Hasbro decides to mark them down some day. A very 'big' if...but inevitably it was bound to happen one way or another. These 3.75" Thor figures have clogged retail shelves save for those very few rare ones like Destroyer and King Loki. I got these from a specialty toy stores via their discount shelf the other day at half price! No-brainer. Even got myself the super-rare Destroyer, King Loki and King Laufey! Waiting for Sif, Fandrall and Heimdall to arrive soon to complete the collection.
6" Movie Thor and Comic series Loki
To be honest I only wanted movie Thor for my movie-Avengers line-up. But I was instantly hooked with the Comic series Loki figure when I saw how gnarly his face-sculpt looked like. That's just pure evil, man! A bit disappointing when Hasbro didn't give accessories for Mr Laufeyson to arm himself with. Not a problem though, I 'd probably give him the sword that came with Toybiz's Loki. As far as the movie Avengers figures go, I'm all hyped up for the rest of the gang especially Hawkeye and the Hulk. Come on Hasbro!!!
NECA Robocop
Hmm, what can I say? I have ALWAYS wanted a Robocop figure for my collection. The Hot Toys version was way out of the line (a tad pricey at that too), the McFarlane version released sometime back lacked articulations and FIGMA's version was a tad short at only 5". So when I first saw the review on this figure through my blogger buddy Marc's flickr page, I knew I just had to have him! I love the Robocop movie from the moment I first saw it and I still do till today. Definitely one of the most iconic pop-culture character to have ever graced our screens.
