The Rise of Skywalker clues from LEGO sets and more

Well it's another round of geeking out and look into the various clues that lead up to the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker film. As a hardcore Star Wars fan, I cherish every little clues that's been sprinkled along the way be it verified or rumor based. It is then up to us to decipher it as we see fit and discuss our findings on the cyberspace and hopefully we can see discussions or debates coming together from other fans alike.

For the record, I'm not too keen to argue or engage in ferocious debates because there are just too many crybabies in the cyberspace who claimed that Disney's Star Wars destroyed whateve fond memories they have (had) from watching the Original Trilogy. Just let them be. Chances are these would be the same people who'd be first in line to watch the new Star Wars film anyway. What I have here on my blog are just my own opinion and you're free to shoot and express your counterviews in the comment section if you're inclined to do so. 

Anyway, with that out of my system, let's dive straight into what I've seen/heard in the past couple of days.

Have you come across that twitter post by some dude/dudette that shows that set of TROS commemorative glasses made by Alamo Draft House? One of the glasses shows Emperor Palpatine in all of his glory. Actually he looks kinda the same last we saw him in ROTJ except for his red eyes. He could really use some sleep ....or a visit to the next intergalactic pharmacy for a vial of spacedrops?

Whatever it is, he looks kinda creepy here and looked like he belongs in the Conjuring universe more than Star Wars.

How about that Marvel Comics cover teased by writer Charles Soule? It shows both Luke Skywalker and Ben Solo, pre-Kylo Ren, fighting the Knights of Ren. This proved that Ben Solo once went head to head with the Knights of Ren before making the switch to the Dark Side, (or the cooler side!) but we have to wait until after TROS movie before we can get our hands on the comic series. Supposedly it is also telling us how the rest of Luke's students believed Ben had murdered their master and launched a man hunt to capture Ben Solo. But why didn't Luke just come out and tell his raging students that he was still alive at that point? So many questions...

How about that fight between Rey and Kylo in Palpatine's old throne room last seen in ROTJ? Get this, when Death Star II was destroyed by the Rebels at the climax of ROTJ, the space station blew up in a nuclear explosion as a result of Lando and Wedge inflicting that killer blow to its core. I mean, the explosion was so intense that the thought of huge chunks of debris surviving the blast was almost impossible. So what's with the throne room still half intact and all? And where did this supposed huge chunk of debris fall after that nuclear blast? Why didn't it fall straight down to Endor? How did it end up so far away to some unknown watery planet instead? Again, so many questions...

Now, how about some hints and clues from several LEGO sets? 

1. Notice how the radar is back to the oval shaped dish that we're so familiar with since  ANH in 1977 up till ROTJ in 1983? I guess Lando's return meant that he became OCD up to the point here he wanted to restore his former ship back to its (almost) original state. So why didn't he re-include back the escape pod at the 'Falcon's mandibels then?

2. The Y-Wing is back! I don't know if I've mentioned this already but I actually prefer the Y-Wing over the X-Wing during my early days of becoming a Star Wars fan in the early 80s. I somehow have a soft spot for bombers and I translate my love for WW2 bombers i.e. the B-17, B-29 and the B-52 real life bombers into my beloved Star Wars craze. That is why, no matter what skeptical fans say about that opening scene in The Last Jedi (or the about the whole movie even), I still love that opening scene where the Resistance Bombers tried to carpet bomb the First Order Dreadnought warship.

Lastly, I'd like to bring everyone's attention to the new A-Wing LEGO set. If you look closely, you'll notice that it's being piloted by Snap Wexley, whom we last saw in The Force Awakens being all victorious after successfully destroying Starkiller Base. So what the heck happened to him during the events in The Last Jedi. You know, when Leia needed all of her best pilots to defend the remaining Resistance fighters? I'd like to think that the poor sod knocked his head somewhere and went into a coma and slept throughout the happenings in TLJ. It's less irritating that way for me. Really.
