The Mandalorian pilot episode...no spoilers here, just grouses (haha)...

Episode 1 of The Mandalorian TV series made its way on the Disney+ streaming channel the other day amidst many (and I mean MANY) criticisms globally. When I say criticisms, I am referring specifically to the intended reach of Disney+ plus. For the record, Disney+ was only available to viewers in the US and Canada on the day The Mandalorian debuted and to Australia and New Zealand on November 19th. Some countries in Europe will only get the streaming channel next March '20 and as for the rest of the world...well, nothing specific yet to date.

Even Star Wars-crazy nation like Japan didn't get lucky this time around.

Let's face it. Star Wars is a universal/global brand. Disney must have surely known that they're pissing off literally millions of Star Wars fans globally when you make such a highly anticipated new Star Wars material available to only certain people in the world. Fact.

So only fans in the States and Canada get to watch the new Mando character in action on November 12th? Sounds ridiculous to me in the business sense for Disney. Why miss out on thousands/millions of new subscribers when you can strike the market while it's hot? It'll be like hot knife on butter. A large number of Star Wars fans all around the world just waiting to hit that subscribe button on the Disney+ page but they weren't able to give their hard-earned money to Disney. Ain't a better time to really get that subscription number to go off the charts and all that. So why limit it just to the US and Canada? I just can't fathom this.

Having said all that, does Disney expect the rest of the world to just stay put while lucky viewers in the States and Canada watch Episode 1 again and again while they put out reviews on social media for unlucky Star Wars fans to drool over them? This is the age of  high-speed internet and ain't nothing's gonna stop anybody from doing some good for fellow Star Wars enthusiasts on the other side of the world. That's all I have to say about that.

I bet you were expecting a full blown review of Episode 1 here. Sorry, but I just couldn't ignore the white elephant in the room and pretend eveything is ok with the way Disney is handling the Star Wars franchise.

And yeah, I've truly enjoyed the pilot episode but I'm not gonna spill anything here. Just in case anybody haven't seen it yet. But I can tell you this. That Rogue One and Original Trilogy vibe, the gritty spaghetti western feel and just knowing how close The Mandalorian is to Return of The Jedi in terms of timeline should make any fanboy dizzy with delight with Jon Favreau's TV series.

Nuff said.
