X-Men '97 thus far

So many things happened in the first 2 episodes and rightly so picking up from where Season 5 of the original 90s series left us. Sharp animations and great story-telling made the first 2 episodes worthy continuation from when we last saw Professor X being carried away by Lilandra in that Season 5 finale. I'm loving it thus far and the direction to make Magneto as the new leader of the X-Men actually excites me more than most people worrying that the Mutant Liberation Front leader's going to disrupt the harmony of the X-Mansion residents.

With so many drama playing out by the end of Episode 2, one can almost certainly be forgiven for not remembering at times that Charles Xavier once graced the X-Mansion and made many appearances throughout most episodes back in the 90s cartoon series. I'm guilty at that too. I think the X-Men can really thrive under Magneto. A different style of administration can maybe benefit them more that a more morally-restrictive Xavier back in the day. I'm really on Team Magneto on this one...shucks.

Storm losing her power (albeit temporarily judging by the end of Episode 3) only paved way for Scott to become the sole field leader for the X-Men and I think I can slowly see him agreeing to Magneto's ideals. Madeline Pryor's introduction and Mr Sinister's plot involving Nathan Summers as early as Episode 2 can open up to so many things and possible adaptation of more comic storyline into the cartoon series. Speaking of which, Kevin Feige has announced that the '97 series is a stand-alone universe and is only one of the many in the ever expanding MCU multiverse, but I don't want to go there and overthink it. Let's just enjoy the '97 series as it is.

Another 7 episodes to go and I think we're in for a real treat for the rest of the season. Great job Marvel!
