Mattel's booth @ SDCC 2009

There were many products from Mattel's new and existing lines that appeal to be a big hit for collectors.
The DC Universe line for instance, continues to grow and become more diverse. Interesting enough, Mattel were literally asking fans and collectors to help them decide future figures in the line. He-Man and Masters of The Universe figures are continuing to pull in diehard and longtime collectors with their vintage toyline produced with modern production values. Approximately one (1) new figure a month will be released in this line in 2009 & 2010.
My personal favourite: Ghostbusters fans can also rejoice, as Mattel will be releasing some fantastic 7" scaled figures whic (sadly) kicked off at SDCC with an exclusive Egon figure. Let's hope this gets released in the mass market for us collectors who don't have the liberty to actually be there at San Diego during these times of the year! But perhaps the biggest surprise was the introduction of a new 12" General Zod action figure with a nice likeness of Terance Stamp from Superman II! Is Mattel going to produce more figures from the 'Christopher Reeves' Superman era? Let's wait and see!
