Who ya' gonna call? Why, the Ghostbusters of course!

Well, this might be old news to some but recently I was able to complete the line-up of my movie Ghostbusters figures! Peter Venkman was the last member of the quartet to be produced by matty and he was finally released in June '10. Months before, fans were clamouring for Mattel to reassure them that Pete will eventually see the light of day. Rumours had it that Mattel might cancel off the line prematurely due to poor response towards the earlier figures. Ridiculous if you ask me....all of them sold out within a few days so what's not 'feasible' about the line? Anyway, here are some shots of the guys together (at long last!) together with an 'old acquaintance' from the first movie!

I'll let my pictures do the talking this time. I hope they do the figures justice!

The boys are joined by Gozer, also known as Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, Gozer the Traveler and Lord of the Sebouillia, the main antagonist of the 1st Ghostbusters movie!

And re-creating that important scene from the ending of the movie....

On another note, matty-collector's about to release the same figures, repainted to emulate how the boys looked like in the second movie (dark uniformed) complete with santa hats! At this point, it is still unknown whether these hats are removeable or otherwise, so better wait for Mattel's confirmation on that in the near future. This one's scheduled to hit TRU sometime during the year-end holidays and word has it that none would be made available through matty's online store at all (thank God!). Good news for those who missed out on the single figures as now you'd be able to swipe 'em all in one go....PLUS you'd get Slimer as a bonus!

What do I think of this boxset you may ask? In the second movie, both Ray and Winston were equipped with the 'slime-blowers' instead of proton packs during the climax of the movie i.e. final showdown with Vigo. This boxset (clearly being a straight-repainted/repacked figures set) simply depicts them carrying proton packs.....a little too inaccurate in my books! Easy pass pour moi!
