Quick look at the Funko ReAction: T-800....

I might have been pretty hard and prejudice towards the 5-POA 3.75" line in the past. It has come to our attention lately that more and more toy companies are producing 5-POAs line these days to invoke that nostalgic feeling towards the good old early days of action figure collecting of the 70s/80s. My son really took a liking to Funko's ReAction line of action figures. This is your straight-up basic 5-POA action figure line with really superb backing card art. Seriously, you might even buy two just to keep one MISB to be hung on your man-cave wall...they're THAT good. Just take a look at the T-800 action figure from the Terminator 2: Judgment Day movie backing card which my son got himself. These ReAction figures uses actual movie stills from the movie itself and never drawn materials, which works perfectly fine really.

The other figures in the line, which ReAction wants you to 'Collect 'em all' (in this case, 5 in the series/wave) are conveniently printed out so that you or your loved ones can diligently plan their next purchases. I remember in the good 'ol 80s these kinda checklist came with tickboxes so that you may tick as you go!

Still don't believe me? Well, here was the display aisle (part of it anyway) whence the T-800 came from....oh those sweet backing card art!

Here was the Invisible Man action figure my son got himself in Tokyo last month. The little man is an ardent fan of HG Well's book of the same title so he was thrilled to have found himself the figure of the titular character. Most 8-year old would go for characters from Minecraft or some other kiddie cartoon at this point of their lives (although mine was more to get as many Masters of the Universe and Transformers during the 80s heydays!) but my son's goal now is to get as many of these Funko ReAction action figures into his collection.

Anyway back to the T-800 figure.....here is the Cyberdyne Model 101 in the flesh...err...plastic! I must say, the likeness is pretty spot on that Funko can put someof the modern 'collector-oriented' action figure producers to shame. This head sculpt my friends, although a wee bit cartoony, screams Arnold Schwarzenegger circa 1992 whichever angle you may turn it to.

Not bad Funko.....not bad at all. My son has already planned his next purchase and I think he's pretty hooked on to this simple yet very nostalgic line...and the dude's not even born in the previous millennia!
