Wedge Antilles in Star Wars Episode 9!

I seriously can't think how Disney/Lucasfilm could've topped their announcement that Lando Calrissian was gonna be in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker until I came across this piece of news in the internet today. Yes, this piece of information brought by Rebel Force Radio (no relation to The Rebel Page...*shucks!*) has just confirmed that another fan favorite character from the original trilogy's gonna make an appearance in the upcoming final movie in the Skywalker Saga.

Wedge Antilles may not be a crucial character to some but in my books he's definitely up there among the best supporting characters in the OT. He may have been redundant in the Battle of Yavin but he made up for it when the Rebels destroyed the second Death Star. In fact, I was actually counting to see him as early as The Force Awakens but I guess them execs at Disney/Lucasfilm wanted to spring sporadic surprises as the final trilogy films slowly come to its close.

Can't wait to see how Wedge's gonna contribute to the resurgence of the Resistance years after the events in The Last Jedi. I mean, where was he during the stuff that happened in The Force Awakens? Why didn't Wedge came out of his hiding/life as a farmer/family life to help his old boss i.e. General Leia before? I need to know all of this, really.

Man, just when I thought bringing back Lando was already geek-worthy & exciting enough for this OT sucker.

If you ask me, there are bound to be more surprises in Episode 9 just like how Yoda made his appearance as a Force Ghost in The Last Jedi. Pretty sure Disney/Lucasfilm's keeping some surprises tight in their chest to entice more OT loyalists to pledge their allegiance to the new trilogy's final film while teasing the with the return of a fan favorite character from the original films.
